Astral Bodies and their astral buddies present remixes and reinterpretations of songs from their album 'Escape Death', rebuilt from the ground up.
"“Outer Reaches” is the first in what we hope will be an ongoing series of collaborations with artists that lean into the electronic side of music. The three of us have spent our lives heavily immersed in electronic music – each of us grew up listening to everything from Tangerine Dream to Autechre and our love of electronic music runs deep. The possibilities of electronic music are limitless – There are no rules and no guidelines, no wrong paths to creation, just pure freedom to explore.
We see the songs presented on this album as a collection of collaborations, where new pieces of unique music have been formed utilising elements of each other’s creative worlds. Our collaborators on this selection are friends old and new, who each have their own individual yet wildly-contrasting idiosyncratic sound. The resulting album is more than just your run-of-the-mill bonus tag-on remix record – the songs here exist together within a singular universe, each with unifying themes and sounds – just differing atmospheres and topography.
While She The Throne and Vei utilise the original sound sources of “Oumuamua” to create atmospheres and soundscapes, Pastelence and The Longcut create songs that are moulded around the original idea of “Equinox” presented on “Escape Death”. Horne, the solo-project of Astral Bodies’ Ian Breen, brings the record to a close with a version of “Mythic Phantoms”, which blends these two differing approaches into one singular piece." ~ ASTRAL BODIES.

How the hell the opening track has not been used multiple times for movie productions is fucking beyond me. Absolutely awesome, hit all the right chords for this genre. Cheers from Alaska.
